Hurricane Katrina has left a devastating wake of destruction, and now the "Gulf-Coast" is descending into chaos. While the Federal Government KNEW several days ahead, to expect a "Class 5" hurricane, NO relief agencies, NO search & rescue organizations, NO supplies were "standing-by" in adjacent states. To date Bush has made numerous statements about the government "co-ordinating" relief efforts, saying that "reconstruction will take years". Sounds a lot like his "Building a democracy in Iraq is HARD WORK!!" speech. If you "dig a little deeper", you will find that virtually ALL funding for "flood-control" and levee repair & maintainance for the New Orleans/ Mobile delta area was diverted by the Republicans to fund their illegal war. It now come back to " bite them on the ass".?? or is it perhaps just another way that the gas & oil-interests can "gouge" and manipulate prices...? citing such a huge disruption of refining capacities??? We must NEVER FORGET, that the National Guard troops needed to patrol the streets and deliver relief supplies are IN IRAQ!!!DODGING BULLETS!! As of today, Bush has sent ONE hospital-ship, and EIGHT "swift-water-rescue" boats to "The Largest Natural Disaster in our nation's history"!! Such incompetence in un-forgivable. I hope that the people of the Gulf-Coast lay blame where it belongs..... on the steps of the Bush White House!!!The next time you see someone proclaiming to "suport our troops",ask them ...: "Why is the National Guard protecting Bahgdad, instead of New Orleans and Mobile??"...............Dave
