C.B.S. News and Dan Rather today admitted that the "questionable" documents about Bush's National Guard service "cannot be authenticated". They also apologized for building a news-story around them, when they had been deceived by the man who supplied them. One Bill Burkett ( who historically has spoken out against Bush) today admitted that , while he still believes the documents to be authentic, that he had deceived C.B.S. about their origin. Burkett admitted the he diverted media-attention from himself, by claiming that the documents had been supplied by someone else. The TRUTH is: We will probably NEVER know the truth about the "service" or lack-thereof of George Bush during his tenure in the National Guard. Now the Republican "mouthpieces" are calling for investigations, implying that the D.N.C. is engaged in a "conspiracy". All this has done nothing but "muddy the waters" in this election. We don't know what happened 30 years ago, we DO know what has happened in the last 3 years. Most Americans do NOT know that , in August, American troops were subject to an average of 83 attacks PER DAY IN IRAQ!! ; This while Bush spews the "same-old" lies about how-well things are going in his "War on Terror". The new Prime Minister of Iraq (who is NOT generally accepted as a legitimate ruler) stated that "thousands" of Al Queda and their sympathizers are now streaming into Iraq He has also said that Iraq needs TWICE as many police and security troops, as they are now training. The "new" terrorist's estimated strength is OVER 100,000!! NEARLY AS MANY AS THE NUMBER OF AMERICAN TROOPS !!! Today 2 more Americans were killed in Afghanistan. It is now known, that Saddam Hussein HAD NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS, Had no biological- weapons program, and NO connection to Al Queda. As a result of Bush's inept, short-sighted "War-On-Terror", He has created MORE terrorists than he has stopped. He has squandered vast resources that were needed to protect America's ports & borders. He has inflamed millions of Muslims who now hate America more than ever. He has virtually ignored the underlying conflict (The Palestinian/ Israeli bloodbath) which is the true seed of hatred the Arab world. America's un-questioning support of Israel and failure to broker any sort of "peace", has fermented "fundamental" Islamic hatred of America. Bush continues to "stay-The Course".... the same type of course that has killed tens-of-thousands of Palestinians in the last 30 years; the same type of course that killed thousands in Ireland. Bush's lame references to Saddam's "torture-chambers" and "Mass-graves" are without-merit; when considered in the light of similar genocide in Africa. Why did Bush invade Iraq? when the attrocites in Africa were SO MUCH WORSE???? There's MORE OIL IN IRAQ, THAN IN AFRICA!!!! Bush's policies are SO short-sighted, that he has made America FAR MORE DANGEROUS !! It has been said that "Bush thinks that "spiritual-enlightenment" is "changing the bulbs in the church". His lack of insight into Foreign-Policy is equally inept, and sadly fatal. For those who are old enough to have exerienced the Viet Nam War, .... "It's like de-ja-vu all over again"!! "It's better to remain a governor, and be though a fool; than to usurp the presidency, and remove all doubt"!!! ...............Dave
