Yesterday C.B.S. news reported that a group of 40 ? former-ambassadors drafted a statement declaring the foreign-policy of the Bush Administration to be "dangerous" & "threatening the security" of the United States. This story was largely over-looked by all other media sources. Will the future ignite interest in this outcry?? Or will these enlightened experts on foreign-policy be silenced by Bush's corporate-connections????......Time will tell. One would think that a Texan would be familiar with the old expression : "opening a can of worms", yet "Dubyah-dumbshit" continues to "stay-the-course". A wise man admits mistakes, and learns from them; an idiot "stays-the-course". One of the Generals who participated in the initial invasion of Iraq stated on T.V. that the policy of "staying the course" was "headed over Niagra Falls". The single-minded lack of "vision" and insight into foreign-policy is nothing less than outrageous. Never have I seen Americans so "divided" and outraged over the lack-of-leadership in our nation. I am daily approached by total-strangers who voice supportive and insightful agreement of the "bumper-stickers" that adorn my car. .... They read: "The Dixie Chicks were Right!!"; "Dick Cheney, before he dicks you"; " We don't have a Democracy, we have an Auction"; "The most Patriotic thing you can do is Question the Motives & actions of your Leaders"; "American soldiers are dying in their Hummers, so you can play-soldier in yours"; "Dick Cheney... Putting the "vice" in the Presidency for nearly 4 Years"; ans "A.B.B." ... (Anybody But Bush). I will soon add: "If Religion is Protected from Government, shouldn't Government Be Protected from Religion???" P.S. over the weekend, I happened to be standing in a line of people, next-to a young man who was loudly advertising to some ladies that "he worked for the Republican Party". I held my temper for some time, but after several minutes of his pompous attempts to impress the young ladies, I could not contain myself. I asked him why he "worked for the organization that chartered the planes for the Lin Laden Family's escape to Saudi Arabia?". The conversation soon escalated, and he "beat a hasty retreat", as he was as obviously un-informed & ignorant of the transgressions of his employer. I saw him later, and gave him a list of "required-reading", numerous books that detail the corruption & incompetance of the Bush Administration. George Tenant; last week became a "scape-goat" for Bush's blunders. Although ALL major "intelligence-agencies" remained HIGHLY sceptical of the "existence of Weapons of Mass Destruction", and the ficticious shipment of uranium to Iraq, Tenant "took-the fall" for his "commander-in-ignorance". We have already seen Generals, Cabinet Members, Advisors, and Staff Members FLEEING the White House, like "rats from a sinking ship"; the public-opinion of "Dubyuh" is still strangely strong. American seem to base their "approval-rating" on 30-second T.V. spots that "spin" and twist the facts; all in the name of some vague "War-On-Terror". Bush has created more dissent in the Middle East in the last year, than in the last 30 years of American "Petro-colonialism". Few Americans know that General Norman Schwartzkopf was a close advisor to the Shah of Iran; a man who was "installed" as ruler of Iran by a covert C.I.A. operation....deposing the duly-elected, LEGITIMATE ruler!! Study the history of American foreign-policy in the Middle East; and you will soon understand why so-many Muslims HATE America. Yet a National Geographic Society survey found that, as recent as Jan. 2003, ONLY 13% OF AMERICANS COULD LOCATE IRAQ ON A WORLD-MAP!!!!! The truth will set you free........... Dave
