See a site called: www.iraqbodycount.org
Comments:
First off, It's http://www.iraqbodycount.net. Second, it was a war. What do you expect? Third, your body count here is misleading. Even the maximum ~11,000 deaths really means nothing. A number of the entries there talked about deaths COMPLETELY UNRELATED to the war/occupation/whatever. Also, since the "war" has subsided and we have been occupying this place trying to keep whatever peace we can and let these people get back on their feet, there have been easily 1000 deaths because of suicide bombings alone from these maniacs. Do you really think the peacefull people that are over there will be able to defend themselves from these radicals? I know they wouldn't and that's why we're there.

Now, can we benefit from helping these people by maybe getting something in return (i.e. oil, etc.)? Sure. It would be stupid for us not to investigate such an opportunity. But, that's not why we're there. And if you think it's because GW wanted revenge for his daddy because Sadam tried to kill him, then why are we giving Sadam back to Iraq to do with what they will? Why does it always have to be about some sort of conspiracy? Why can't everyone just accept that Sadam was a tyranical ruler who has known ties with the terrorists that killed easily 3 - 5 thousand people on our soil in 2001?

I mean hell, if you want to do a body count, lets add that to the 11,000 deaths on your web site there... Now how many of thse deaths are Americans, or more importantly non Iraqis? Even if its half (about 7,000 people), is that not worth fighting for?

Scott =^)
