The Cannes Film Festival is beginning this week; it will be interesting to see how Michael Moore's new film (Farenheit 9-11) will fare. I have always wondered: if 95% of the World Trade Center attackers were from Saudi Arabia, why didn't we invade Saudi Arabia??? THAT'S WHERE THE TERRORISTS ARE !!!! SIDE-BAR: George W. Bush convinced Texas taxpayers to build a new stadium for the TEXAS RANGERS baseball team, thereby increasing their market-value ENORMOUSLY; He then sold all of his ownership in the team, reaping HUGE profits for himself & his investors/campaign-contributors. He also served as a "Finacial-officer" on the board of Harken Energy.... and sold his stock about 5 months before they went bankrupt! (Gee, I thought that "insider-trading" was illegal!... odd, how Martha Stewart is going to jail for similar, but much less serious offenses. Perhaps it's just A CO-INCIDENCE THAT SHE IS A MAJOR CONTRIBUTOR TO THE DEMOCRATS!!!) I have mentioned before about the "rules of disclosure", regarding Cheney's "Energy Policy Meetings". The Republicans have fought diligently to keep secret the details of meetings that Cheney had with Ken Lay of Enron, and other energy-insiders; weeks before the massive "rolling-blackouts" and price-spikes of energy in the entire West Coast. (Enron, co-incidentally OWNED most of the power-plants & distribution networks!) These same "rules of disclosure" did not protect Hillary Clinton's meetings with Health-Care executives, when she sought to reform our medicare system!! Now the matter has gone to the U.S. Supreme Court, where "The fix is in". The same justices who stopped the vote-count in Florida are now preparing to vote on the matter of these secret meetings. (One justice's wife works for the law-firm that represented Bush in the 2000 election, and Justice Anton Scalia recently vacationed with Dick Cheney, on a "hunting trip". I wonder if they were hunting for the truth, or a way to "weasel" out of this predicament??? I guess that Scalia has never heard of "conflict-of-interest". An interesting segment on P.B.S. FRONTLINE was entitled "George W. Bush, The Jesus Factor". check it out... It seems that "GOD" talks to George, and "told him to be president". It is no wonder that many Muslims despise America, and speak of a new "Crusades" against them! Bush is not-unlike the "radical" Muslim mullahs who preach "holy war"; he has FAILED to grasp the fundamental concepts of Christianity: (Love, Forgiveness, Grace, Compassion, Forgiveness, etc.), and yet calls himself "Christian". He brings new meaning to the concept of "hypocrisy". "What Would Jesus Do?"..... DEFINITELY NOT A "PRE-EMPTIVE" INVASION!!!! There are now more people who have died as a result of the invasion of Iraq, than all casualties from the 9-11 attacks. Yet NO "weapons of Mass Destruction" have been found, and NO links have been made between Al Queda and Saddam Hussein!; but Halliburton just keeps on "raking-in" the money.
