Political Perusals

It has recently "come to light"(via the New York Times) that "Dubyuh"-dumbshit has assumed the powers of a King.... after "9-11", he secrectly authorized covert surveillance of American citizens; WITHOUT court-authorized permission.... (I.E. such "trivial" things as "warrants", or "Judicial-oversight"). While Bush HAD "Legal" channels to obtain the information that was sought, he chose to assume ABSOLUTE authority and circumvent that avenue. With such disregard for constitutional-law, what is to stop him from ignoring Congress again.... why would he need permission from ANYONE to obtain "intelligence", "evidence", or to conduct illegal searches? His actions are clearly un-constitutional, and "impeachable" in nature. The U.S. Constitutions specifically prohibits "illegal-search and seizure", and is backed by centuries of legal decisions to PREVENT search and seizure without "JUDICIAL-REVUE" and permission!! Last night he made a lame attempt to raise his "poll" ratings; he assured Americans that the Iraq war was "justified", and "noble". (Although today's "poll-numbers" SHOW NO CHANGE IN HIS "CONFIDENCE-RATINGS"!). He then tried to divert the scrutiny being done to his illegal, "covert-intelligence-gathering" operation.... saying that the program was "Legal" and that it was carefully over-seen "BY N.A.S.A."!!!!!!! Listen carefully to transcripts of his speech; he CLEARLY says: "N.A.S.A." THIS MORON DOESN'T KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE "National Security Agency", and the "National Aeronautics and Space Administration"!!! Maybe he thinks that the "N.A.S.A." is using it's satellites to intercept and collect data about "TERRA"!! By the way, Bush is constantly refering to a "War-on-Terra"...... Doesn't the word "Terra" refer to "The Earth"???? (As in "Terra-Firma")... We all know that his agendas have reflected a "war" on the Earth for YEARS!...........Bush continues to be an illiterate, incompetant embarrasment to America and the World!! Perhaps his latest "Hubris" can bring about his impeachment. WE CAN ONLY HOPE!!!...............Dave

Early this morning, convicted murderer "Tookie" Williams was executed in California. His conviction was based entirely on the "here-say" testimony" of other convicted felons. California Governor Arnold Schwartzengger denied his last-minute appeals for clemency; stating "no evidence" of William's "rehabilitation" or "remorse". It isNOT commonly known that the only other "civilized" nations who still execute people are: Saudi Arabia, China, & Cuba! It seems that the "Moral-Majority", and the "Christian-Right" are MORE concerned about mounting a massive effort to save the "Brain-dead" Terry Schiavo, than to save a man who has "turned-his-life-around", and may have been falsely convicted!!... a man who has worked to disuade teens and children from gangs and drugs. Why is it "O.K." to kill those who kill; to prove that killing is WRONG?? Even the "most-heinous" killers can still have-value as reminders of their crimes and examples to others. Once a murderer is executued, they have NO more value. It has been proven that the lengthy appeals and trials of "death-row" inmates cost MORE than converting their sentence to one of "life-without-parole". It has also been proven that the death-penalty is un-justly applied to minorities, and the " poor", who often cannot afford competant legal-representation. This is FAR from the concept of "equal-protection under the law". A person, such as O.J. Simpson can be OBVIOUSLY guilty; yet afford "world-class" lawyers, and media-consultants to mold public opinion and juries. I remind readers that "Ahnold" is merely a "puppet" governor of the Neo-Con/ Republican liars; installed by Ken Lay and Enron's manipulation of the California energy-grid and economy. (Taped evidence exisits of Enron employees conspiring to cause the infamous "rolling-blackout" which so-badly affected the California economy and subsequently toppled Governor Grey Davis.) Schwartzenegger should be impeached; along with his Republican "Commander-In-Thief", Bush. He has a limited command of the English language; scarcely sufficient to fathom such concepts as "redemption", and "remorse". His "job-skills" are little more than repetition of "catch-phrases", such as "I'll be back"...... (a trait shared by many Republican politicians); while things are being "blown-up". It , however, no surprise that "Ahnold" can show NO sign of compassion; after all, he has made a fortune ASSASINATING PEOPLE IN THE MOVIES!! ("I am the Terminator; you will be terminated") The new Neo-Con "talking-point" is another no-brainer, designed to be easily remembered by the mindless masses. Regarding an Iraqi "withdrawl", they speak of "cut & run", or "Retreat in Defeat"... (Notice the catchy little rhyming phrase, which can be easily remembered by the "SHEEPLE".) I read today that, on 11/15/2005 Donald Rumsfeld STILL professed that "Saddam was on the verge of producing weapons"... In an interview (available from the Defense Department)" Rummy" spoke to their puppet-mouthpiece Sean Hannity; professing the LIE that Iraq had ANY nuclear weapons , or weapons -program! Such insane allegations have been proved false by literally dozens of sources; including UN.-weapons-inspector Hans Blix, and Ambassador Joe Wilson. To date NO evidence of nuclear ("Nuke-yuh-lure") weapons or their development-programs have been found!! Still, about one month ago, Rumsfeld CONTINUES TO LIE ABOUT IT!! This week, Iraq will hold elections. This is being touted as "progress" by the White House. It is largely unknown that, since the invasion, more than 600 suicide bombers have targeted Iraqis and Americans alike. Today four more American soldiers died. In the "Best-case" scenario, the Iraq elections will suceed and the "insurgent-attacks" will taper-off. Even if this IS the case, is there any GOOD justification for the destruction and killing of thousands..... In a war which is believed "Illegal" by every international standard?? A war which was justifed by deception, lies and "spin"?? Thousands of American troops will bear the physical and emotional scars for decades to come; all for the whims of a "college-cheerleader" , former-alcoholic, "C-Student", who AVOIDED HIS OWN MILITARY SERVICE!!........Dave

The Associated Press today featured an article by Adam Gorlick; "Americans Seek Integrity; Words looked up more than any other on dictionary web site". While it was seemingly a "fluff-piece", an interesting bit of trivia; it speaks volumes about the illiteracy of America. The "Top Ten" words sought on the Merriamwebster.com web site are: #1..Integrity, #2....Refugee..... #3... Contempt, #4... Fillibuster, #5...Insipid, #6... Tsunami, #7... Pandemic, #8... Conclave...#9...Levee, #10.... Inept. It is "mind-boggling" to appreciate that SO MANY "literate" Americans don't know the meaning of these words!! "Integrity".... was #1, because our "elected" officials seem to HAVE SO LITTLE OF IT! "Insipid and Inept"(often, again refering to our government-officials) are defined as: " Insipid: Lacking in qualitiies that interest, stimulate , or challenge; dull, flat....(as in George W. Bush)..... and ""Inept: Generally incompetent, bungling"; (again... as in George W. Bush) The word "Conclave" ( A private meeting or assembly) appears from Dick Cheney's "Energy Policy Meetings", and the various nefarious meetings to invade Iraq. (ALL held in secret, and not privy to public scrutiny) "Contempt" is defined as: "Willful disobedience to or open disrespect of a court, judge, or legislative body.".... (REMIND YOU OF ANYONE??? "Pandemic" is the latest "red-herring" to come from the White House... We MUST do whatever the pharmaceutical companies want.... or MILLIONS WILL DIE!!! (The administration that DENIES "evolution" wants us to fear a virus which "may someday evovle" into one that can be passed from human-to-human!) The "Inept" response to hurricane Katrina brought us to the words: "Levee", "Refugee", and "Tsunami". ... "Levee" those artificial flood-barriers, which have been built by tax-dollars.. built to inadequate standards, and are now destroying the natural wetlands which prevent coastal-erosion. Experts have predicted that, if New Orleans is re-built, coastal-erosion from the levee-system will place it about 3 miles out into the Gulf of Mexico in 80 years.... I'll bet money that Halliburton gets the contracts to re-build!!! (without bids) Last, but not least, the word "Tsunami"appeared on the list because Americans "saw it the T.V." for weeks, and at-first thought that it was something on a SUSHI menu!!....It is truly sad, how "Insipid" vast numbers of Americans have become; a fact that has allowed corrupt, devious and radical Right-Wing fanatics to gain control of OUR democracy!! The "Neo-Cons" rely on an un-informed, illiterate, and easily-manipulated electorate.... people who mindlessly react to "bullet-points" and "Talking-points", endlessly droned by their "spin-doctors" and media-puppets..(recent examples have surfaced of White House fabrications, and selective press-releases PAID by the Bush administration, as well as carefully-orchestrated "photo-ops", and "press-conferences") They CANNOT defend "serious" issues or policies without them; choosing rather to pander to emotion with such things as: "Guns, God, & Gays" KNOWLEDGE IS POWER", and The "Right-wing" would rather keep us all STUPID!!.......(I probably can't expect to "change anyone's mind" with this dissertation; it has too many "Big-words") I do, however, encourage anyone who reads this to "forward" it to as many people as you can...... The internet can be a powerful weapon against despotism (another big-word), and stupidity..............dave

"George-The Lesser, pretender-to-the-throne" continues to chant "Stay the course"... (Isn't that what the captain of the Titanic once said?) He has embarked on a group of four carefully orchestrated "speeches" before groups of carefully-selected "supporters", against "patriotic" backdrops".... all for the purpose of avoiding his catatrophic failures! Air America Radio today mentioned a British survey of Iraqi civilians.. 80 % of whom, WANT AMERICAN TROOPS OUT NOW!!! more troubling, 45% OF THOSE SURVEYED FEEL IT IS ACCEPTABLE TO "SHOOT AT AMERICAN TROOPS!!!" True, the Iraqi "leaders (carefully selected by the Bush administration) support the American "occupation"; THE MAJORITY OF IRAQI CITIZENS DO NOT!!! Iraqi civilain "casualties" now EXCEED 118,000!!! American troop-losses exceed 2100, and tens of thousands of badly-injured Americans and Iraqis will bear the consequences of this war for the rest of their lives. "Suicide-rates" of American troops are at an "all-time-high".Their "infrastructure" is now better now than it was two years ago, and "insurgent-attacks" aimed at Americans, kill hundreds of Iraqis every week. It is now PAINFULLY evident that the Bush adminstration is guilty of CASATROPHIC FAILURES OF PLANNING, AND EXECUTION OF AN "ILLEGAL WAR"!!!.....In economic news.... The Ford Motor Company is expected to close 25% of it's factories and "lay-off" more than 25,000 workers in the "re-structuring" to be announced soon. (sounds like "de-ja-vu" all over again!!!!)

In an prime example of "educated-media"; a so-called "expert" on politics appeared today on P.B.S. One Jeff Birnbaum, employed by the Washington Post, was talking about the recent bribery and corruption in Congress. He stated that Americans don't have "confidency" in our Congress... I guess that Mr. Birmbaum studied "vocabularyism" at the same college as George W. Bush. ( I always assumed that the CORRECT word was "Confidence") I also assumed that the Washington Post ACTUALLY hired "literate" writers. Information has surfaced today, that the Tom Delay "re-districting" of Texas, (which garnered Republicans additional seats in the Senate), was ACTUALLY ILLEGAL... It seems that such a tactic (also known a gerrymandering), is illegal under Federal Law; since it discrimates against minorities. It ALSO seems that the Justice Department WAS AWARE OF IT'S ILLEGALITY at the time, and chose to ignore it!! Tom Delay also used the "Department of Homeland Security" resources to "track-down" the Texas legislators who fled the state to try to stop his plot. (ALSO ILLEGAL) Hopefully, some diligent prosecutors will pursue this in the future...... Tom Delay.... Putting the "con" in Congress!!! Dick Cheney...... Putting the "Vice" in the Vice Presidency!!!! ..........Dave
