On Friday, it was announced, that "Scooter Libby (Chief of Staff for Dick Cheney) had been indicted for four felonies. It seems, that Dick Cheney was probably involved in the Wilson/Plame C.I.A. "smear" campaign; however, it is nearly impossible to actually "prove" a conspiracy between members of the White House staff. It is NOT a crime for Cheney and Libby to discuss Valerie Plame-Wilson's C.I.A. affiliation ( as they both have top-level security clearances). The crimes of which Libby has been accused, are "documented" perjury to a Grand Jury, obstruction-of-justice, and divulging secrets to the press. The difficulty of ACTUALLY proving a conspiracy by Cheney, Rove and others means that they will probably go "scott-free". It seems that the statutes relating to "divulging secret intelligence" are rather vague and subject to "interpretation". Such "interpretation" would eventually become the duty of the REPUBLICAN-CONTROLLED SUPREME COURT. The laws state that a person would have to "knowingly" divulge secrets.... and any one might escape prosecution by merely claiming that they "didn't know" something was "secret". I seem to recall a "legal-concept" which has always stated that "ignorance is no defense"!!! (unless you're mounting a "smear" campaign against someone who has proven you a liar!!) Joe Wilson appeared tonight on N.B.C. television. He spoke eloquently, and directly to the "heart" of the matter. His belief is that the "leak" of his wife's C.I.A. status was an effort to intimidate anyone who dared to "speak-out" against Bush's Crusade in Iraq. Wilson was THE most authoritative expert available to investigate any possible "Uranium-shipments" from Africa to Iraq. When he chose to discredit Bush's claims of an Iraqi "Nuke-yuh-lure" program, he had ALREADY told White House officials of his findings AT LEAST FOUR TIMES!! It is now apparent, that George W. Bush LIED to the entire world about his justification for the war. Have we so-soon forgotten, that Hans Blix (Chief U.N. Weapons-Inspector) ALSO testified that there was NO evidence of an Iraqi nuclear-program???? The Bush administration used forgeries, lies, half-truths, and the "intelligence" of a man who had not EVEN LIVED IN IRAQ IN 15 YEARS, to fabricate an argument supporting their pre-conceived agend.We must not forget, that the "Scooter Libby" scandal is merely a symptom of the "Cancer" which exists in the White House.... There is MASSIVE evidence that Bush/ Cheney , Wolfowitz and Rumsfeld had planned the invasion of Iraq AT LEAST TWO YEARS BEFORE "9-11". The "Death-Toll" of Americans has now risen to more than 2015; with more than 15,000 wounded. The Iraqi "civilian" casualty toll is estimated at more than 50,000. The cost of this illegal and immoral war will be a burden on generations of Americans for years to come. The emotional-toll on American military and their families CANNOT be measured. Still, Bush tells us to "Stay the course", and that we must "complete our mission".....YET NO-ONE CAN TELL US EXACTLY WHAT THE "MISSION" EVEN IS!!! Bush campaigned, telling us that he was "not a nation-builder"...So WHAT THE HELL IS HE TRYING TO DO IN IRAQ???How many more LIES can we "stomach"??? How many more soldiers must needlessly die?? How long must we endure Bush's incompetence, arrogance and hubris to "line-the-pockets" of military-contractors?? (It is not widely known, that the Bush family has profited BILLIONS from "arms-sales" by "The Carlisle Group"... Dick Cheny has similarly profited from massive "no-bid" contracts awarded to Halliburton and it's subsidiaries. Our democracy has been "hi-jacked" by the most corrupt groups of "robber-barons" since the Rockefellers and the Sinclairs many years ago. They manipulate the media, manufacture "news", and divert scrutiny of their dirty-deeds with fear and lies. American "middle-class" citizens are being "bled-dry" to feed corporate greed..... We CANNOT LET THEM "GET AWAY WITH IT!!!"............Dave
I have always suspected that the State of Texas has "something in the water"; some rare element which causes acute stupidity. I used to think that maybe it was merely the lack of a diverse gene-pool, which caused "whackos" to frequently appear in the "Lone Star State". The state of Texas has brought us such memorable "crazies" as Ross Perot, and David Koresh. When George W. Bush became governor, and then President of the United States, I was convinced that it must be some sort of contagious-disease. It cannot merely be attributed to excess consumption of "Lone-Star" and "Pearl" Beer. Today, another example of this phenomenon surfaced in Waco Texas. A minister was electrocuted, today while performing a "baptism" in a river near Waco, (NOT FAR FROM CRAWFORD). He was standing in water, "up-to-his-chest", and someone handed him a microphone!! As "Forrest Gump" once said: "Stupid is, as stupid does"!! Isn't it "common-knowledge" that you NEVER USE AN ELECTRICAL APPLIANCE , WHILE STANDING IN WATER??? If there is "some rare element" which produces such morons, I want the priveldge of naming it. This stupidity-inducing substance should henceforth be called: "DUM-ASS-IUM"!!! or perhaps "DUBYUH-TONIUM"!!!................Dave

I have learned today, that the U.S. government more than $30 BILLION DOLLARS annually to fund research by the N.I.H. (National Institute of Health) to develop new drugs. This is nearly as much as the $40 Billion spent by ALL Pharmaceutical companies to do the same. It is approximately HALF of what those same drug companies spend ADVERTISING AND MARKETING THOSE DRUGS!! Who do you think PAYS for the constant stream of television ads to provote Viagra??.... You and I. The most disgusting part of this scenario is that these drug-manufacturers almost ALWAYS use this Federally-funded research to secure their own patents on new drugs... sometimes by conducting "clinical-trials", and sometimes by "inventing" a similar "copy-cat"-drug. In effect, we pay BILLIONS of dollars to develop new drugs, the F.D.A. then allows the drug-companies to monopolize them, patent them, and set their own prices for them! At the same time, the recently-passed Republican "Drug-Bill" has DENIED Medicare, local & and state governments from "negotiating" prices with these pharmaceutical companies! Their "enlightened" approach to soaring drug costs was to perform a new "shell-game"... a confusing array of "prescription-drug-discount-cards";. Most of which are about as useless as the "coupons" that can be clipped from your "junk-mail"...(Keep in mind, that the second-largest-contributor to the Bush campaign WAS DRUG COMPANIES AND THEIR LOBBYISTS AND "P.A.C.s")..On another note, a friend of mine sent me the "War-cry" of the "Lefties" who are OBVIOUSLY conspiring to impune Tom Delay... 'SEND THE "HAMMER" TO THE "SLAMMER"!!!........Right-On! I havea new slogan for potential "bumper-sticker" enthusiasts..... "DEMAND "INTELLIGENT-DESIGN" ....... IN THE WHITE HOUSE!!!"........Again, I ask... Why is Bush attempting to place Harriet Miers in the Supreme Court???... Let's subpoena her to testify for the Grand Jury investigating Karl Rove and Dick Cheney's TREASON!!! Who else would have "intimate-knowledge" of any conspiracy to discredit Valerie Plame, but the CHIEF WHITE HOUSE COUNCIL???.........Be mad, be VERY MAD!!

Every media "mouthpiece" is now concentrating on Harriet Mier's having answered a survey in the 80's, which said that she supported an amendment to the U.S. Constitution prohibiting all abortions... except in cases necessary to "save-the-life" of the woman. There is a MUCH GREATER issue at hand here. As "Chief-White House Council", she was OBVIOUSLY involved in discussions with Rove, Libby, Cheney and any others who were targets of Grand Jury investigations and subpoenas. I heard today,(correct me if I'm wrong) that during the Clinton administration, the Supreme Court ruled that a "Chief White-House-Council" HAS NO SPECIAL PRIVELEGE OR IMMUNITY FROM INDICTMENTS OR SUBPOENAS!!! It seems that Bill Clinton attempted to claim such "immunity" during his failed impeachment proceedings, and the Republican-controlled Supreme Court dis-allowed it. This ruling is now coming back to "bite them on the ass". Bush's attempt to place Miers on the Supreme Court is an OBVIOUS attempt to keep her from having to testify about the treasonous attack on Valerie Plame and her husband's denouncement of the (non-existant) Niger/uranium connection to Iraq. Miers is THE number one witness to any conspiracy or treason occuring in the White House; appointing her to he Supreme Court is the ONLY way to silence her testimony!! The Supreme Court ruled that a "Chief-Council" was an employee of the citizens of America; and therefore exempt from prosecutory-imunity and "attorney-client-privelge"... as the "Chief-Council's" ACTUAL CLIENT IS THE "AMERICAN PEOPLE"... not any one individual....I encourage all who read this to raise this issue with your Senators and Representatives. Call them, write them, e-mail them... DEMAND the investigation, indictment and subpoena of Harriet Miers!!!!..........Dave

The "mainstream" media is buzzing with speculation about Bush's latest appointment to the Supreme Court. Various news-analysists have bemused Harriet Miers' "lack of experience" and "lack of evidence" regarding her having NEVER actually served as a "judge". What scares me , is NOT her lack of experience; but her membership in an "Evangelical-fundamentalist" church; it seems that Bush is again, pandering to his "Base". Odd, that NOT once, has it been discussed... that she served as "White-House Chief Council" and therefore privy to any and all discussions which occurred to conspire against Valerie Plame!! Just EXACTLY where does "attorney-client" privledge end??? Can she be subpoenaed to testify in the Grand Juries investigating that treasonous plot?? Can she, herself, be indicted as a "co-conspirator" ?? I suggest, that indictments be issued.... that subpoenas be granted; let the courts argue just how far her "immunity" goes.. Can anyone ACTUALLY believe that she would NOT have been consulted by White House Cabinet members and staff "when the shit hit the fan"??? She was, after all, CHIEF WHITE HOUSE COUNCIL!!! Ignore, if you will, her lack of experience as a judge. Ignore the lack of legislative-opinions by her. What we CANNOT INORE, is the fact that she was, almost certainly, involved in a conspiracy at the highest levels.... one which involves an "act of treason" during a "time-of-war"!!....... Where is the "Public-outcry" against her?????............Dave
