The Washington Post "syndicated" an interesting article by one: Justin Bloom... re-printed in various Sunday newspapers. titled: "Big Oil Is Pulling In Even Bigger Profits". It states that the damage in the Gulf Coast region "accentuated gains the refineries and producers were already enjoying over the past year". It states that "Exxon/Mobil Corp., the Irving Texas behemoth that produces and refines oil, reported in July that its second-quarter profit was up 32 percent, to $7.64 billion. Analysts expect Exxon's profit to soar again this quarter". When gasoline prices recently soared, "it was partly because the nation's refineries were getting an estimated 99 cents on each gallon sold. That was more than three times the ammount they earned a year ago when regular unleaded was selling for $1.87""It also states that "mergers in the refining business have made it easier for the companies to limit supplies of gasoline and extract higher prices".SOUNDS A LOT LIKE THE "ROLLING-BLACKOUTS OF CALIFORNIA"..CONDUCTED BY ENRON!!!This is no more than "corporate-blackmail' by the "special-interests" who control our government!!. Add to this the "NO-BID" contracts awarded to the contractors who HEAVILY contribute and control Washington for the purpose of "re-building" the Gulf Coast.....Hmmm??? So THIS is what happens when we have a Texas "oil-man" in the White House!! Who pays for this crime???? WE DO!!!!

In another example of the "stink" which surrounds the Republican power-base, Senate majority leader Bill Frist is now accused of "insider-trading" As reported in the Associated Press, he apparently held a reputed 7 Million dollars of stock in a corp. called: "Hospital Corp. of America". This stock was held in a "trust" by his wife and children; to avoid any "conflict of interest" A few weeks before it lost nearly 13% of it's value, Frist instructed his broker to sell.. a strategy which saved him about $91,000. It is "coincidence", that his brother-in-law is on the board of directors of that same corporation. Martha Stewart went to jail for a similar transgression; one which involved less than ONE-FOURTH as much money!! Martha Stewart was NOT in a "position -of-power", which regulated and oversaw the "Health-Care" industry; so she had to "do-time". It will be interesting to see how attention is diverted from this crime. It is also worth-mentioning, that almost NO "mainstream" media has reported on this; although a minimal "Google search" of "Bill Frist Insider Trading" yields volumes of information on this incident. Bill Frist profits from "insider" stock information; Tom Delay takes "kickbacks" via his attorney from gamblimg casinos, and NOBODY CARES!! Ask an "Ordinary" American voter if they have heard about any of this.... you'll get responses much like Jay Leno's "Jaywalking Allstars"...vacant stares, profound silence, or responses reminiscent of "Dumb & Dumber"...THESE PEOPLE ARE THIEVES!! THEY ARE STEALING OUR DEMOCRACY, AND LINING THEIR OWN POCKETS!!! I heard that Halliburton has signed "no-bid" contracts to rebuild the infrastructure of New Orleans.... NO SURPRISE!!! You remember HALLIBURTON; THE PEOPLE WHO LOST MORE THAN 1 BILLION DOLLARS IN IRAQ!!!... AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST, WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO THE HUNT FOR OSAMA BIN LADIN???............dave

The Hospital-ship "Comfort" yesterday docked in New Orleans. ELEVEN DAYS after Hurricane Katrina struck. Dispatched by the incompetant Bush administration, it now sits idly; with NO defined "mission", ad NO patients to treat.It has gone largely un-noticed, that a U.S. navy "rescue" ship with dozens of helicopters and hundreds of "hospital-beds" was ALREADY stationed in the gulf.....Capable of reaching New Orleans within hours, this ship also had the capability to "de-salinate" and "make-drinkable" tens of thousands of gallons of water!! This ship SAT idled by bureaucratic "red-tape", and and was subsequently not used. (It seems that it could not be "dispatched" without an "express, written order from the president".....You know, the guy who was too busy TAKING A VACATION!!!!) Dick-Head Cheney apeared in orchestrated "photo-ops" along the Mississippi coast; pledging "help" from a compassionate government. One local by-stander was SO outraged, that twice (while Cheney was being recorded) Cheney was told to "Go Fuck yourself!!...This outraged citizen was "censored" by every media outlet, and the story was TOTALLY ignored by nearly every radio and television station and network. Only "Edited" versions have surfaced on Air America Radio, and N.P.R. Can you imagine a victim of a hurricane, who is SO outraged at the government's efforts, that he would tell the Vice President to"Fuck himself"???? Cheney dismissed it, saying that he had not heard such views "directed at him". Odd, since this is VIRTUALLY THE SAME PHRASE CHENEY USED ON THE FLOOR OF THE U.S. SENATE!!!The director of FEMA, was today fired. (about time).... Still; too-little, and too-late. Meanwhile, the "debit-cards" previously purported to be available to "Evacuees" have been stopped. First they were said to be available to "all" "evacuees"; then it was said that "Only those who took shelter in the Super-Dome" were elegible; NOW FEMA and the Bush-idiots are saying that "those who want the $2000.00 assistance must first APPLY for it".... a process, which REQUIRES a "mailing-address" , proof of identity, and ACTUAL "mail-delivery"..... Most of which these people hve NONE!!! It now seems that the bureaucrats have attempted to make it VERY difficult, if not impossible for these "evacuees" to receive assistance. I heard an interesting discussion of Pat Roberton recently on N.P.R. "Democracy Now". It seems that Pat Robertson has been using his television network and shows to endorse and promote one Robert Mugabe.... The President of Zimbabwe.While Robertson is integrally connected to the radical "Christian-Coalition"and it's Neo-Con fascists, the Bush administration has pubically denounced Mugabe....placing him on a "black-list", citing "opression, human-rights abuses, violence, corruption, and mis-management". Robertson has, on his television shows praised Mugabe...who in 1996 married his "private-secretary", who is 41 YEARS YOUNGER, AND WHO BORE HIS TWO "OUT-OF-WEDLOCK" CHILDREN! Mugabe has, for long, been the target of scandal for the corruption and greed surrounding Zimbabwe's natural-resource sales..(specifically gold & diamond mines) It is blatantly obvious that he and his corrupt government have "pocketed" the vast majority of the proceeds of these mines, while his citizens live in poverty. One might wonder WHY Pat Robertson would endorse such a "despot"?? The truth is, that Pat Robertson is PARTNERS in some of these same mines, WITH Robert Mugabe!!!Add to this, the fact that Robertson's"Religious" organizations (tax-exempt), are the NUMBER ONE RECIPIENT OF FEDERAL MONEY FOR "FAITH-BASED-INITIATIVES"!!! Today, the B.B.C. news network detailed a study done about two years ago. This study was a comprehensive, detailed analysis and prediction of a "Category four" hurricane's effect on New Orleans. Done by a Lousiana University , in collaberation with FEMA, a ficticious hurricane's effects were analyzed by the latest computer-simulations. This study predicted EXACTLY what has occured in the last ten days. Yet still, we hear the incompetant bureaucrats in Washington tell us that such a disaster "could not be predicted". Our own, Federally-funded research PREDICTED EXACTLY THE DEVASTATION AND DEATH NEARLY TWO YEARS AGO!! ABC news today told of an "Medical-emergency-response-team", directed bt FEMA; who had been transferred to FIVE different locations and had managed to "treat" ONE person, who had a small cut!! The"hospital-ship" dispatched to New Orleans, has not yet arrived; and when by the time it does, everyone who needs medical-attention ill be either DEAD, OR IN SOME OTHER CITY!! The Republican-controlled Congress, and Dubyuh have promised to mount an "investigation" into the failures of the past ten days. NOT and independant investigation, NOT even a "Bi-Partisan" investigation; but another "Whitewash". The "fox is guarding the chicken-coop" once again!! Undoubtedly, all other travesties of this administration will be "Put-on-the-back-burner"; Karl Rove's criminal behavior will go un-punished. Halliburton's massive frauds will go un-checked. Investigations into "price-gouging" by energy companies will "disappear". Allegations of "doctored" intelligence about Iraq will vanish. Today I heard a "Right-Wing" "talk-Radio" host, complaining that the Democrats "had made no positve steps, and had no real solutions"....He NEGLECTED to mention, that any initiatives taken by Democrats are inevitably stopped by the Republican monopoly of Washington. I heard a rumor that the director of FEMA had beeen fired from his former job ,as director of the National Arabian Horse Federation. I also heard that he obtained his job at FEMA as the result of being the "college-room-mate" of one of Bush's buddies... Hardly sufficient credentials to administrate and co-ordinate the "GREATEST NATURAL DISASTER IN AMERICA'S HISTORY"!!! The recent Katrina disaster will obviously cause many small-businesses and "sole-propriatorships" to declare bankruptcy; yet NOT ONE Republican has offered to cancel or suspend the pending laws which make it nearly IMPOSSIBLE for anyone but "Major-Corporations" to seek bankruptcy-protection!! Not one Republican has addressed the massive numbers of people who will now be on Medicare, &/or Social Security as a result of this disaster. How long does "Dubyuh" think a person can live on his $2000,00 "blood-money"?? NOT LONG ENOUGH TO RELOCATE, RECOVER, RE-BUILD, AND GAIN DECENT EMPLOYMENT!! I am reminded of the FORTY-FIVE C.I.A memos, which warned of Al Queda's intent to use "aircraft as weapons"..... IGNORED BY BUSH. We now know of DOCUMENTED STUDIES warning of a hurrican such as Katrina, and the resultant death and evastation........ALSO IGNORED BY BUSH!!!!!! Just how much incompetance can America bear??? When does it become "Criminal-negligence"??? Can we seek an indictment against a "sitting-president" for such outrageous negligence?? Bush's "Legacy" will be that of the MOST incompetant, MOST corrupt, and MOST inept president in American history!!........ If we survive long enough to remember!!! PLEASE forward this dissertation, and encourage others to forward it as well. WE CANNOT RELY ON THE "SOUND-BITES", "TALKING-POINTS", AND "SPIN" OF THESE CROOKS TO LEARN THE TRUTH. It has now been TEN days since hurricane Katrina devastated much of our Gulf-Coast. The Republican "spin-meisters" are hard at work.. shifting the "blame" from federal officials to that of State and Local authorities. It begs the question: "Aren't the FEDERAL agencies called "F.E.M.A." and "Homeland Security" supposed to be "in-charge" of such disasters?"... If not, THEN WHAT THE HELL-GOOD ARE THEY , ANYWAY? As Americans, we expect our president to "take-charge".... not to stay on "vacation", and go-golfing, after the hurricane. We expect our Secretary-of-State to be "hard-at-work" in such times..... NOT be attending Broadway shows, and shopping at Louis Vitton. We expect our Vice-President to be "hard-at-work", NOT vacationing in Montana. We expect our administration to gather in "high-level" meetings to co-ordinate relief and rescue efforts, NOT to be scattered all over the country. WHERE IS THE "LEADERSHIP"?? A" B.B.C News". article detailed how massive military-relief-efforts were WAITING to be deployed behind the hurricane; but were not able to act.... waiting for presidential-approval.We see now, only after-the-fact, "selected "phot-ops" by the president; illustrating how "passionate" and "concerned" he is!! He promised us another "investigation"...a SORRY EXCUSE for his lack of leadership! Another "investigation", clearly destined to divert our attention from his other FAILURES, including the criminal behavior of Karl Rove! What ever happended to the expression: "The buck stops here"?? The Bush administration accepts NO responsibility for ANYTHING!! As the comedy-group "The Firesign Theatre" once said:.. "Not responsible, Not insane"!! As president, Bush appointed a man to direct FEMA.... a man who formerly directed the Association of Arabian Horses!!!Just WHAT qualifies a man to direct massive "disaster" and "relief" efforts; after planning horse-shows????ANOTHER BLATANT EXAMPLE OF BUSH'S CRIMINAL-NEGLIGENCE, and INCOMPETENCE!!! The "Neo-Con" spin-doctors have a new "talking-point".... they are flooding our media with attacks on "Liberals".. and those who "play the blame-game"... a cute little "catch-phrase" designed to stick in the minds of their "base". Meanwhile they DO EXACTLY WHAT THEY ACCUSE OTHERS OF DOING, SHIFTING AND DODGING THE "BLAME"!! Just WHO is "In-Charge", anyway???? aren't THEY they ones who should "bear-the-blame"?.."Power" comes with a burden of "responsibility"...The Republicans have managed to "corner-the-market" when it comes to "power" in Washington D.C.; We must now HOLD THEM ACCOUNTABLE, AND MAKE THEM "RESPONSIBLE"!! "Dubyuh" showed up today; like the WHORE that he is; posing for Television cameras in a "Photo0p"... hugging some poor little black girl. While thousands of New Orleans and other Gulf-Coast refugees have yet to be fed, housed, or evacuated; Bush is never one to miss a chance to show "How caring" he is!! Remember over a week ago; our televisions were filled with the latest satellite-images from the world's most advanced and expensive technology. We witnessed interviews of flight-crews, who had flown directly into the hurricane to gather the latest data. Scores of "Weather-experts" were paraded before us to warn of the imminent danger. Experts on the "flood-control" levees in the gulf testified about how these dams could only survive a "Level-three" hurricane ; at the same time, ALL data, and ALL experts predicted a "Category Five" storm. Can George Bush NOT tell the difference between the numbers "Three", and "Five"??When the Iraq war was so dismally mis-managed, Bush blamed "Bad intelligence".. Will he now choose to blame "Bad Weather"?? or is this tragically mis-handled disaster a case of "Bad Intelligence" on the part of his administration?? The day after Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, "Dubyuh" was GOLFING IN ARIZONA!! Four days later, Secretary of State Condaleeza Rice ATTENDED A BROADWAY SHOW AND SHOPPED AT LOUIS VITTON!!! Ad to this, the fact that more than 1/3 of the region's National Guard troops and more than 1/2 of their equipment has been deployed to IRAQ!!!When the "experts" predicted a "Category Five" hurricane approaching the Gulf-Coast, WE HAD NEARLY THREE DAYS WARNING!! WHY WERE NO RESCUE & RELIEF EFFORTS INITIATED THEN?? Bush's pathetic response was to advise people "to evacuate".... many of whom simply COULD NOT! The average "median-income" of many of the afffected areas is LESS THAN $20,000 PER YEAR!! Many are elderly and children and have no cars, and most could not simply "pack-up" and head for a motel hundreds of miles away. Rush Limbaugh's show insinuated that these people "deserved" their plight.. asking "why didn't they evacuate when they were warned?" The rescue and "relief" efforts SHOULD have been deployed and standing-by" in adjacent cities and states on Saturday before Katrina made "landfall"...Instead, we now see the first evacuations and supplies more than four days AFTER the storm, with "W" posing for the media.. We could "air-drop" food and water to Afghanistan; yet Americans are dying of starvation and dehydration in the streets of New Orleans. As a result, the TWO greatest catastrophies in America of the last 100 years have come UNDER BUSH'S "ADMINISTRATION"!! One wonders; how much money is being made by the chaos and disruption of the oil industry?? Has Bush called his buddies in Saudi Arabia to increase OPEC production?? Has he talked to Mexico's Vincente Fox, asking for emergency shipments from PEMEX?? The answer to both questions is an obvious "NO"! He would rather allow the rampant "gouging" and skyrocketing prices to line the pockets of his "oil-industry" friends. Anarchy in Iraq has been SO profitable for them; now anarchy in the Gulf-Coast will do the same. Just HOW INCOMPETENT does one man have to be, NOT to be president???...... be "outraged", be "VERY OUTRAGED"!!!!...........Dave
