Today, New Mexico was visited by "President" George W. Bush. In a largely-un-announced visit, he spoke to a group of his supporters. It seems that he, and Dick Cheney, made such visits in an effort to prevent the display of public-outrage that many Americans are beginning to experience. They came, like "a thief-in-the night", to offer little-more than "spin"; making vague patriotic promises to gullible supporters. Un-announced to the general-public, they made their "warm-fuzzy" speaches , and left without addressing any real substantive issues. Today Bush repeated his illogical claims about "making America safe", took credit for the current housing-boom, ( which began under Bill Clinton), and promised to make home-ownership "more affordable to minorities".; and obvious attempt to "suck-up" and pander to the local Hispanic community. Meanwhile, P.B.S. "Democracy Now" featured the testimony of a former U.S. Navy "public-Information-Officer", who retired after 15 years of duty. It seems that he could no-longer tell the lies that were expected of him, having been told the truth about our involvement in the Middle East directly from the troops that were there. This moral-dilema caused him to suffer an emotional-breakdown; and he now had to tell the truth. P.B.S. also disclosed the fact that Condaleeza Rice,( who has an oil-tanker named after her), refused to cooperate with the Congressional investigation into "9-11". Although she has "executive-privilege", many of her predecessors have "waived" such privilege, in similar inquiries. She then went on numerous television networks to "spin" her side of the story, ( T.V. interviews are NOT held "under-oath"). Such is her creditability . " Democracy-Now" also interviewed two soldiers who served in Iraq. They stated, that at many times, they had inadequate ammunition, fuel, water, and food; as well as inadequate troop-strength. It seems that Donald Rumsfeld had ignored the experienced advisors from the Pentagon, who recommended nearly THREE TIMES THE NUMBER OF TROOPS DEPLOYED.! Recent surveys have shown that "troop-morale" is considered "bad", or "very bad" by 78 % of the troops now in Iraq. National Guardsmen, who were promised a 90-day deployment, have now been serving for over a year; some have been returned to active-duty for the second time. Similar surveys have shown that terrorist-recruitments are at an "all-time-high". It seems that Bush's brazen contempt for International-Law has spawned MORE terrorists.; and as the situation in Palestine illustrates: If you kill one "terrorist", 3 more will rise-up to avenge him. George is "totally-clueless". His administration struggles to "stamp-out" various political-brushfires.; as more and more flare-up every day. His own Cabinet looses members" Like rats abandoning a sinking ship". A White-House "actuary", (who had been hired to estimate the "new" Medicare-costs) was threatened with firing, ( "so fast, his head would spin") if his cost-estimates didn't coincide with the figures that Bush had previously stated. Richard Clarke, White-House counter-terrorist expert, has now released a book that details how Bush, Rumsfeld, and Cheney "downplayed" the urgency of addressing the "AlQueda" threat. White House officials (in both the Bush & Clinton administration), claim that they had "insufficient, credible intelligence". Perhaps the lack of intelligence stems from the Bush-family's close ties with the Saudi royal-family, for the last 30 years.???? Why did the White House charter planes to fly 140 Saudi citizens BACK to Saudi Arabia, THE DAY AFTER 9-11???? INCLUDING MEMBERS OF THE BIN LADIN FAMILY????? None of these Saudis were "detained", or even QUESTIONED!!! Maybe the "lack of intellegence" results from the F.B.I.'s diversion of 20 MILLION DOLLARS worth of resources, and 250 employees, to investigate Bill Clinton's sex-life??? (while terrorists were taking flight-lessons!) Or maybe the "lack of intellegence" was the result of the fact that GEORGE BUSH SENIOR HEADED THE C.I.A.???? It seem that such a "lack of intellegence" must be hereditary, as it now surfaces in the person of "the President". "Knowledge is power!!" spread the word, tell anyone that will listen; WE MUST STOP BUSH! I have made a point of "disecting" the various Bush campaign-ads for my children;. Illustrating how they actually "say" nothing at all, make vague promises, and play on the fears of a "terrorist-threat".; never once addressing actual "issues". The most patriotic thing anyone can do, is to question the actions and motives of our "leaders"!! Take back our democracy, bring down the despot! Dave

Today V.P. Dick Cheney is flying to Artesia New Mexico to "suck-up" to gas & oil-industry campaign-contributors. Since Artesia is within "driving-distance", I wanted to go there & voice my outrage at the Bush crooks. My wife, however, convinced me otherwise; as she said that she would NOT bail me out of jail. Does any one out there know if it is illegal to wear a shirt that says: " SECRET SERVICE" ?? I was planning a large sign that read: "YOU SUCK DICK, CHENEY !!" That way I could always claim that I had simply misplaced the comma. It is a little-known fact that 76% of Dick Cheney's public-appearances since the last "election", had been for FUND-RAISING ! I was not aware that "corporate-ass-kissing" was part of his job-description! If an employee in the "private-sector" took-off work 76% of the time to raise money for a political-party; THEY WOULD BE FIRED IMMEDIATELY!!!!! I guess that I was mistaken when I assumed that a Vice President would be involved in matters of economic & foreign-policy, treaties, negotiations, & administrative-issues . ????? When did it become MORE important to "re-elect" an incompetant, war-mongering, drunk; than to save America's economy???

A recent assault on the Bill Of Rights, and the Constitution: (From U.S. News & World Report, 1/12/04): "Security is one thing, but how about this from the Department Of Homeland Security? The agency has instructed employees to ignore, in some cases, court orders to disclose information. The agency says that an employee who gets a court order should seek a delay, And if he or she is unsuccessful and the court persists, the employee "shall respectfully decline to comply with the demand"". Apparently, certain Federal-agencies are ABOVE the law, and the accountability of our courts!!!!!! I USED TO THINK THAT IGNORING A "COURT-ORDER" WAS A CRIME!!!! Dave Wellman

Correction to previous "blog".... It was Rumsfeld (NOT Ashcroft) responsible for gross under-deployment of troops.
